Present Perfect Tense in Spanish
Despite its name, the present perfect tense in Spanish (and English as well) is used to refer to events that happened in the past. Its use in Spanish can be tricky, however, because its usage varies with region and it sometimes is used in slightly different ways than it is in English. In Spanish, the present perfect tense is formed by the present tense of haber followed by the past participle. (In English its the present tense of to have followed by the past participle.) It generally indicates that an action has been completed that has some bearing on the present. Forms of Present Perfect Tense Here are the forms in which the present perfect would be stated. Pronouns are included here for clarity but often arent necessary: yo he past participle (I have ...)tà º has past participle (you have ...)usted/à ©l/ella ha past participle (you have, he/she has ...)nosotros/nosotras hemos past participle (we have ...)vosotros/vosotras habà ©is past participle (you have ...)ustedes/ellos/ellas han past participle (you have, they have ...) Note that while in English, as in some of the examples above, it is possible to separate the have from the past participle, in Spanish you normally dont separateà haberà from participles. However, if haber applies to two participles, the second haber can be omitted, as in the second sample sentence below. Sample Sentences Here are some examples of sentences using the present perfect tense along with the way theyd most commonly be translated: Me he comprado una esponja rosa. (I have bought a pink sponge.)à ¡Es lo mejor que he visto y escuchado en mi vida! (Its the best thing I have seen and heard in my life!)à ¿Alguna vez has hablado con las ranas a medianoche? (Have you talked with the frogs at midnight?)Todos lo hemos pensado. (All of us have thought it.)Minerva ha conocido ya a los padres de su novio. (Minerva has already met her boyfriends parents.)Siempre he anhelado tener un metabolismo con el cual pueda comer lo que quiera. (I have always wanted to have a metabolism that would let me eat whatever I want.)Hay videojuegos que han hecho historia. (There are video games that have made history.)He leà do y acepto la polà tica de privacidad. (I have read and I accept the privacy policy.) Subjunctive Use The subjunctive present perfect functions in much the same way: Mi amiga niega que su madre haya comprado un regalo para el perro. (My friend denies that her mother has bought a gift for the dog.)Titular: 14 piscinas que no se parecen a nada que hayas visto antes. (Headline: 14 swimming pools that dont seem like anything you have seen before.)Es probable que hayan escondido micrà ³fonos en la casa y està ©n escuchando nuestras conversaciones. (It is likely that they have hidden microphones in the house and are listening to our conversations.)El la eleccià ³n mà ¡s sucia que hayamos conocido en los à ºltimos tiempos. (It is the dirtiest election that we have known in recent times.) Present Perfect With Meaning of the Preterite You should be aware, however, that the Spanish present perfect tense should not always be thought of as the equivalent of the English present perfect tense. In many regions, it can be used as the equivalent of the English simple past tense. Sometimes the context will make this clear: Ha llegado hace un rato. (She arrived a little bit ago.)Cuando lo he visto no he podido creerlo. (When I saw it I couldnt believe it.)Leo la carta que me han escrito esta maà ±ana. (I am reading the letter they wrote to me this morning.)Esta maà ±ana he estado en Madrid. (This morning I was in Madrid.) But even where the context doesnt dictate so, the present perfect can be the equivalent of the English preterite, also known as the simple past. This is especially true for events that occurred very recently. Youre also more likely to hear the present perfect used in this way in Spain than in most of Latin America, where the preterite may be preferred (e.g., llegà ³ hace un rato). Key Takeaways The present perfect tense is formed by following the present tense of haber with a past participle. No words should intervene between haber and the participle. The Spanish present perfect sometimes is used to indicate than an action recently took place rather than merely that it has occurred.

Question: Discuss about theArt History forPhenomenal Movement. Answer: Introduction The Romantic Movement is the most phenomenal movement that witnesses the glimmering beginning of visual art. The art of that period depicts the flowering of emotional experiences and acts as an interesting influence on the Global art. The fine arts permeated the European landscape in the early and mid 19th century. The portraits of the period stand as the emblem of romance and aesthetics. The painter spawned such an aura in the painting that it looks very authentic. Theodore Gericault stands as the superlative figure in the domain of Romantic Art. He created a masterpiece, The Raft of the Medusa that explains the story of the passengers and crew of an anchored ship. The captain of the ship had relinquished them. The portrayal of the real situation was a well-known fact of the period. The paintings of Gericault have natural and story-like disposition. It was created in such a way that it went beyond anybodys comprehension. The painter embellished the incident in such a way that the victims remained stuck on a raft, pitted against the interminable forces of nature. However, a few gallant figures sought for a rescue ship. The feature of despair and bloomer were the salient features of Romantic painting. Eugene Delacroix was a versatile disciple of Gericault. He even struck a pose for one of the dying figures in Raft of the Medusa. In his brilliant piece, Eugene Delacroix followed the trend of Gericault. The portrayal of subtle political episode about a real event with an allegorical hue compounded the situation. The piece Liberty leading the people projects the iconic figure of Liberty who led the people into a whirlpool of the war against valiant forces. The painting exhibits the staunch spirit of the French people. Therefore, the paintings stand as the emblem of French Revolution. The painting, doubtless vibrant, was purchased by the French government and it was displayed for a short period. The officials treated the symbolism fierce and evocative. In the segment, the French painter Hyacinthe Rigaud created the portrait of Louis XIV in coronation paraphernalia in 1701. By the dint of merit and versatility, the portrait has the label of the official portrait of Louis XIV. Another painting, Napoleon I on his Imperial Throne manifests an 1806 portrait of Napoleon I in a regale disposition. The French painter Ingres painted the portrait with finesse (Norberg Rausenbaum 2014). Coming to the main angle, Rigauds portrait of Louis XIV exhibits splendor and intricate embellishment. In the portrait, the ceremonial robes of Louis XIV, along with his elegant styles and the lofty expression bear testimony to the fact of exalted status. In the portrait, Rigaud maintained a regale style and gave a vivid description of the kings apparels and other accessories that beautify the look. The portrayal of the coronation of Napoleon stands for the simplicity that permeated the whole sketch. The creativity of the sketch is interminable and jeweled embellishment adds to the grandeur of the portrait. The two portraits exhibited the time gap and the change of creativity (Roberts 2015). Background Nowadays, the need of improvement in intensity and quality character ducation implementation in formal educational institutions is increasing. This idea is based on the growing social phenomenon, namely the increasing juvenile delinquency in society, such as a mass brawl and various other cases of moral decadences. These phenomena are obviously n ot expected to happen in our society. Therefore, the formal education institutions which are functioned to create the younger generation is expected to increase its role in the formation of personality of students through increased intensity and quality of character education. Before we discuss further about the need of character education nowadays, it is better to know the definition of character itself. The Sageââ¬â¢s English Dictionary and Thesaurus defines character as ââ¬Å"the inherent complex of attributes that determines a personââ¬â¢s moral and ethical actions and reactionsâ⬠. American Dictionary of the English Language defines character to be ââ¬Å"the stable and distinctive qualities built into an individualââ¬â¢s life which determine his or her response regardless of circumstancesâ⬠.Abraham Lincoln once said that, ââ¬Å"Reputation is the shadow. Character is the tree. â⬠Our character is not just what we try to display for others to see, it is who we are even when no one is watching. Good character is doing the right thing because it is right to do what is right. Nancy A. Wood (2008) defines character as an evaluation of a particular individuals moral qualities. It can also imply a variety of attributes including the existence of lack of virtues such as integrity, courage, fortitude, honesty and loyalty, or of good behaviors or habits. When someone is a moral character, it is primarily referring to the assemblage of qualities that distinguish one individual from another. Character building is the way to strengthen oneââ¬â¢s character by molds oneself into a productive person within oneââ¬â¢s sphere of influence. Developing such personal qualities seems as a purpose of education. Character building in school, we call this term as character education, is applied to the national curriculum method that turns around developing ââ¬Å"good characterâ⬠in students by practicing and teaching moral values and decision making. On the other word, character education is an investment system of the character values to the citizens of schools that include components of knowledge, awareness or volition, and actions to implement those values (Bila Nastiti, 2010). As Theodore Roosevelt expresses that to educate a person in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace society. His statement implies that if we want to make students good at not only cognitive aspect but also have a competent in moral aspect, we should educate them in a pleasurable condition. Songs are one of a pleasurable media to teach moral values in English subject.English teachers can use songs as part of their classroom teaching repertoire. Larry M. Lynch (2010), states that songs contain authentic language, is easily obtainable, provide vocabulary, grammar and cultural aspects and are fun for the students, especially to Elementary students. The 6th grade elementary students somehow will enter Junior High School later. This is a stage of adolescence for them. According to Ghifari (2004), adolescence is a group of people who are leaving childhood full of childhood dependency and towards the establishment of responsibility. Therefore, teaching moral values through education is important to be implemented in early education, as well as an early preparation for them to face their adolescence later. 59 Essays - Creative Works, Literature, Novels, Free Essays
59 Essays - Creative Works, Literature, Novels, Free Essays Huckleberry Finn: Controversy Paper Huckleberry Finn: Controversy Paper Huckleberry Finn sets each reader back in a time when we as humans where inhuman. All the faults of the world was just beginning to show through and some of the right was being shifted to the side. Just as in Huck Finn, we are reminded of the race relations that we all still face. Mark Twain does his best to show the reader the love for one another and the as people and the compassion we all have hidden inside of us. Ralph Ellison said, "The Negro looks at the white man and finds it difficult to believe that the "grays"-a Negro term for white people- can be so absurdly self-deluded over the true interrelatedness of blackness and whiteness". What are we too think of when we hear this? In Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain brings out the obvious interrelatedness that we all share with each other. This book is in the hands of many intelligent readers and it should not be underestimated by the power that it may hold. Although, it must hold to its meaning, we can not allow it to steer us to the wrong's of the world today. Shelly Fishkin suggests Mark Twain has "obscured" the African American roots when writing Huck Finn. Jim, as suggested by Fishkin, has been plagued with a dialect that should not be represented by the African American race during that time. The question is raised by Fishkin as to if Huck Finn was black? This in turn would take away from the whole basic outcome of the moral lesson that we are all so desperately wanting to hear about. I found it almost appalling to see how one author could so easily turn the goodness of a young white boy and basically call it a lie in the eyes of Mark Twain. It is up to us as the reader to close our eyes and open our minds to the whole heartedness of a man kind. English

Make solar energy economical Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Make solar energy economical - Essay Example Solar energy technology is faced with engineering challenges however there follow ways of making it more efficient in its production, storage, and use. For example, most of solar cells today that is used for commercial purposes are highly made of silicon that converts electricity from sunlight, with less percentage of efficiency due to high manufacturing costs. Due to use of silicon material the cost of electricity production is three times higher which makes the engineering pauses need for cost-effective cells with low manufacturing costs (Simon, 2007). The current standard cells provide thirty-one percent efficiency due to use of silicon materials. Use of new materials for production by multilayer cells can increase the efficiency. There are also other ways of enhancing the efficiency of solar energy which includes the development of nanotechnology. This is the development of engineering structures which are effective compared to the use of molecules and atoms. This makes them effe ctive because one nanometer is equal to a billionth of one meter. Use of other materials like lead and selenium elements in the making of the cells which make a nanocrystal which is more cost effective and more efficient. With the use of standard cells, there is the production of excess heat when a photon releases an electron to carry the electric charge which makes it ineffective and inefficient enough. On the other hand use of nanocrystals made of selenium and lead elements produces extra electrons instead of heat.
